Carspotting: BMW E21 320i

E21s are getting harder to find in the wild.  This one was parked at the Mendocino bed and breakfast we stayed at.  It's beautiful and very clean.  Plus, it has a stick shift.

It's funny how cars bring back memories.  A family friend, Bobby, was about ten years older than me.  In 1986, I was a huge astronomy buff and he took me out to the desert to catch Halley's Comet (remember that?).  He had either a grey market E21 or an Alpina E21 and played this Whitney Houston song constantly while we drove through the Mojave overnight.

Bobby's younger brother Eddie was also a car nut.  He imported this right hand drive Toyota Soarer to Southern California.

Stay tuned as I share a steam train ride through the redwoods.
