AIDC F-CK-1 Ching-kuo

Who knew that Taiwan manufactured its own jet fighters?

From Wiki:

  • Named after Chiang Ching-Kuo, Chiang Kai-Shek's son and successor.
  • Produced from 1994 to 1999; all 130 jets still in service.
  • Created because U.S., under pressure from China, would not sell F-20s and F-16s to Taiwan.
  • Designed and built with help from American defense contractors.
